Jamel Thomas (born July 19 1976, in Brooklyn, New York) is an American professional Basketball player, formerly in the NBA. He is 1.98 m (6'6") in height. He is currently playing for Eldo Napoli in the Italian Serie A (basketball). In 2006-07 he played for Besiktas ColaTurka Istanbul in Turkey and Angelico Biella in Italy. He has played collegiately for Providence College. He played in the NBA in 1999-2000 (3 games for Boston Celtics and 4 games for Golden State Warriors) and 2000-01 (5 games for New Jersey Nets). His career averages are 8.5 MPG, 2.6 PPG and 1.8 RPG. He has also been signed for a brief period by Cleveland Cavaliers and Portland Trail Blazers (1999-00 season) and Utah Jazz (2000-01 season), but he has never played for those teams in an NBA game.

Thomas is the older half-brother of current Minnesota Timberwolves Point guard Sebastian Telfair.

Thomas has written a book about his life titled The Beautiful Struggle. It is due out from Xlibris in late September. In the book, Thomas comments on cousin Stephon Marbury, as well as half brother Sebastian Telfair.
